At a glance

  • April and October are the strongest all-round months in 2027.
  • Ramadan 2027 is expected from about February 8 to March 9.
  • Arrivals are at record levels, so book peak dates six to twelve months ahead.
  • New hotels, flights and trains are arriving before the 2030 World Cup.
  • Summer works on the coast and in the mountains, not inland.

The best time to visit Morocco in 2027 depends on more than the weather this year. The country is changing fast. Morocco welcomed a record 19.8 million visitors in 2025, up 14%, and arrivals reached 7.7 million by the end of May 2026. The official goal is 26 million a year by 2030, when Morocco co-hosts the FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal. Analysts now think it could get there two years early.

That growth brings new hotels, better flights and faster trains. It also brings fuller riads and busier medinas in the peak weeks. Here is how we would time a trip next year.

What is changing before 2030

  • More rooms. Morocco plans around 60,000 extra hotel beds by 2030, roughly a 20% increase on today. Much of that is in the big cities and the stadium host cities.
  • More flights. Air connectivity is at the center of the national tourism roadmap, with new routes into Marrakech, Fes, Tangier and Agadir.
  • More competition for the best small places. New capacity is mostly large hotels. The 6-room riad you saw on Instagram still has six rooms.

Our view: 2027 is a sweet spot. Infrastructure is better than it was, and the World Cup crowds have not arrived.

Ramadan 2027 Morocco travel

Ramadan in 2027 is expected to run from around 8 February to 9 March, depending on the moon sighting. Traveling during Ramadan is entirely possible and can be memorable. Hotels and riads serve guests as normal. Some local restaurants close during the day, and the evenings, after the fast is broken, are warm and lively.

What changes: some museums and shops keep shorter hours, and guides and drivers who are fasting will appreciate an itinerary with an earlier finish. We plan accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best month to visit Morocco in 2027?

April and October are the strongest all-round months for weather across the cities, mountains and desert. November is the best-value pick: warm days, fewer people and better riad availability.

Will the 2030 World Cup make Morocco more crowded?

In 2030 itself, yes, especially in the host cities. Before then, new hotel capacity and flights are being added. 2027 benefits from the improvements without the tournament crowds.

Is it okay to visit Morocco during Ramadan 2027?

Yes. Hotels and riads operate normally for guests, and the evenings are a special time to be there. Expect some daytime closures and shorter opening hours, and dress a little more conservatively.

How far ahead should I book a private Morocco tour?

For April, October and holiday dates, six to twelve months. For quieter months, three to six months is usually enough. Small riads and private desert camps fill first. Tell us roughly when you are thinking of traveling in 2027 and what matters most to you, weather, quiet or a particular festival. We will tell you honestly whether that window works. Is Morocco expensive to visit in 2027?

Costs are rising with demand, especially for the best riads and desert camps in peak weeks. Booking early and choosing shoulder months such as November or late May gives the best value.

Do Americans need a visa for Morocco in 2027?

No. US passport holders can stay up to 90 days without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months after your return date.

Are there nonstop flights from the US to Morocco?

Yes. Royal Air Maroc flies nonstop to Casablanca from New York, Washington and Miami, and from Los Angeles since June 2026.
